Exercise or diet: Which prevents pediatric obesity better?

3-22-11: When it comes to prevention and reversal of obesity in adults, most agree that both exercise and healthy nutrition are necessary. When it comes to kids, most healthcare professionals tread more carefully on kcal restriction in kids for a variety of reasons such as impairing growth and pushing towards eating disorders.

Recent research now supports the idea of focusing on physical activity over dieting to prevent pediatric obesity. It was found that this helps to increase lean mass over fat mass.
